Over the last couple of weeks Jack has decided he wanted to try out being an outdoor cat. Now this being Jack he couldn't just zip out the front door when he saw his chance, he's tried that a couple of times and always got caught shortly afterwards so that was no good. No, Jack needed something better. Sneakier and more dramatic. So what to do?
Scale the inside of the fireplace up to the roof and get outside that way! Yeah thats the ticket! And what does he do once he gets outside? Climb the tallest tree in the neighbors yard and stay up there for 36 to 48 hours ish. Magically frees himself from his altitudinal predicament and wait by the front door in the evening to go back inside and to get a bath and eat. Lose 2 or 3 pounds from this adventure.
For the second act he decided that the big tv box in front of the fireplace was too hard to get around and that maybe there was an easier way to get out. Bending out the middle of the window screen in the kitchen did the trick. Another multiday outdoor adventure begun! All good things come to an end, this time 3AM on a Saturday night after a disagreement with one of the other outdoor neigborhood cats. Hiding underneath the car was not enough to evade capture.
For an encore the now loosened kitchen screen window was used again, this time knocking completely off the window. Exploration of Frank and Dotties yard and evasion of said neighbors was done in the morning topped off by a window fight with Sally who either didn't think the white outside cat could be Jack or that she was pissed at him for being out and not her, we just don't know which. This adventure was cut short when I came home in the middle of the day and he decided he wanted in.
